Welcome - Why are you reading this?
You are now one of the happy readers that have stumbled upon possibly the best - or worst - blog currently online about Stockholm. Whether you will like or hate it, I cannot tell, just as I cannot tell whether you will be Stockholmian or not (although I suspect that there will be a connection between your Stockholmliness and your liking to this blog).
What matters, is that you are here, and even went so far as to read more than just that first sentence. I am very glad that you did, since this must mean that either or more than the below applies.
You are:
- Interested in - or living in - Stockholm or the vast area surrounding it
- In the past been <see 1>
- Bored and have run out of interesting sites to check/blogs to read
I strongly encourage people of all three types to continue reading, since I hope to satisfy the needs of all three!
Particularities, strangeness vagaries, and other oddities that are typically Swedish or Stockholmian, perceived from a foreigners point of view (hailing from the Flat Lands - Holland) who is trying to survive in the Swedish - nay, Scandinavian - Capital.
A short introduction 2.0 - What's the point of it all!?
The point of this blog is twofold:
1. To entertain its readers.
Although I am not one to nag if Stockholmians read this, I must admit that the content has been produced by - and for - non-Stockholmians, even non-Swedes. Even Swedes, though, are welcome to read it, since internet is a free medium after all (isn't it...?)
2. To express my feelings and frustrations.
Although I am not one to nag (repeating myself here), this blog is designed especially for that purpose, to 'nag' or lament about particularities that are striking, obvious, annoying, ridiculous, obnoxious, funny, devastatingly disastrous... of Stockholm and Sweden.
That said and done, I would in advance give my deepest and humblest apologies to anyone I may insult with my blogs. None of my texts are intended as insulting, but in this subjectivistic* world nowadays everyone can be insulted by anything. If, by any chance, I do insult someone, therefore, I hope that they will forgive me my ignorance and will be able to shrug and think 'dumb Dutch people' and move on with their lives.
* Subjectivism: very fancy posh way of saying that (morally) everyone has his own values and norms to follow and no 'universal norms and values' can be distinguished. In - less posh and fancy - words: 'Moral Anarchy!'
